PULTRUSION FIBER GLASS REINFORCED PROFILES
Fiber reinforced plastics manufactured are the engineering plastics with balanced combination of mechanical strengths and basic properties of plastic viz. Light weight, good mouldibility, excellent resistance chemical corrosion and electrical insulation.

PULTRUSION FIBER GLASS REINFORCED
Pultrusion is a continuous process for the manufacture of FRP sections using Polyester/Epoxy Resin, Fiber glass and special additives. The process involves pulling of impregnated glass fiber through a heated die where it cures to hard mass. This formed section is pulled out mechanically on a continuous basis and cut to required lengths.

Material used in the pultrusion process can be grouped in three different categories:
  • Reinforcements
  • Matrix
  • Additives

The choice of material and their respective proportions can provide broad spectrum of composites of varying properties.

The various profiles manufactured by YPIL using Pultrusion process, provides consistent Characteristics associated with high mechanical strengths as under:
Corrosion resistance Depending upon resin being used
Higher mechanical strength The mechanical strengths on strength to weight ratio basis are higher than steel
Electrically insulating Provides dielectric strengths of 100 kV/inch
Light weight Nearly ¼ th the weight of steel
High impact strengths Does not impart any dent or permanent bending if any tool falls on it.
